Hollie J Hilzinger has worked in a variety of art fields for many years. She worked for Walt Disney World in their art department, worked for a variety of advertising agencies around the country as well as being involved with interior decorating. Graduating with double majors in studio art and art history was a great grounding for the variety of teachers she has worked with over the last 10 years. From living abroad and studying with a master oil painter as well as studying with masters in pastel here in New Jersey, she recognizes and thanks each and every one.
After having lived in England for 3 years, soaking in the visual beauty there as well as extensive travel with her husband Jeff and their three daughters, gathering fresh views, colors, and life experiences, she is thrilled to have found pastels once she moved to New Jersey and Chester. The ability to overlay colors and the use of a variety of surface textures has really excited and challenged her in her work both of landscapes and of people.
She has shown at the Atrium Gallery - Morristown, ArtSpace Gallery -Morristown, Greenberry’s Coffehouse – Morristown, is a member of the New Jersey Pastel Society, is a member of the New Jersey Visual Arts Center, the Somerset Art Association, had a one woman show at the Chester Library February 2007, has been in a variety of juried art shows some being with the Somerset Art Association, the Bernardsville library, PSNJ show and showed at the Art in Summit Exhibition.
